AnduinOS employs a streamlined three-tier approach to package management. The base system relies on Ubuntu packages for a stable core, whilst AnduinOS-specific components are managed through Apkg — our own lightweight package tool.
For end-user applications, we have replaced Snap with Flatpak for sandboxed, cross-distribution app delivery. This keeps your applications isolated from the system, saves disk space, and gives you access to a vast catalogue. Of course, AppImage and traditional APT remain available whenever you need them.
